HISTORY
I was born in the early days of Rock and Roll, I survived the 60's and 70's...barely!!  I've been obsessed with art and making things since my early childhood. 
My school notebooks were filled with drawings.  I began studying Fine Art in the early 80's, focussing on drawing, painting, sculpture and photography.
I enrolled in an evening course in jewelry making in 1988, liked the process and began making silver jewelry in my Vancouver basement suite armed with a jewelers saw, a couple of files, a rawhide hammer, ring mandrel and a propane torch from a hardward store.  I burnt some holes in the carpet dropping hot metal, learned by making mistakes and repeating till I got it right.
Kind of how my my life has been in general.

I enrolled in an accredited course for Jewelry Art and Design at VCC to explore my newfound passion.  Since then I have put in countless hours on the bench developing my skills making my own creations and  plenty of custom pieces.

MY WORK
I'm a bit of a Rennaissance man in my shop, I work in many different mediums and use a variety of materials.
For the last 5 years I have been involved in making custom jewelry props for the film industry. 
Making custom jewelry and film props is a lot about problem solving, I love the challenges it provides.

Jackson Studios employs time-honored traditional techniques of wax carving, casting and hand fabrication to create jewelry that is contemporary with a connection to days gone by.

INSPIRATION AND MISSION
Our collections incorporate historical artifacts as well as stylized patterns and textures from the Natural world.
Bold street style for free thinking individuals who aren't afraid to make a statement and create their own style. 
Some pieces are inscribed with words to live by and aspirations to help keep us focused in this ever changing world.

All our creations are handmade using traditional techniques, and as a result each piece is unique in it's own way.  We believe this to be an attribute and part of the charm of hand made objects.
